Idols

There is one great problem with those in power influencing the world, is that the world is made up of masses that will blindly follow anything the seems supernatural or divine. If someone shows up and saves someone else from a seemingly impossible situation then the word miracle starts getting thrown around and that leads to idolatry. That is why we help in secret. There is no way that we can come out into the light and reveal what we are doing to the mass populace. It happened once upon a time and we loot at that point in history as the era of Greek gods. That cannot happen again. There have been treaties made and ruled put in place to prevent this from happening again.
But we are out there, and we are helping.
